Derrick Williams of the Detroit Lions and Charlie Villanueva of the Detroit Pistons, have teamed up to host the 2nd Annual Celebrity Softball Game in Michigan to raise funds for their non-profit programs "Mealz on D.Wheelz" and "Charlie's Angels". From this event and others held throughout the year, Derrick and Charlie will continue their individual community efforts to raise money to help provide healthy eating and anti-bullying after school programs to various public schools in the City of Detroit throughout the season.
Presented by Best Buy, and partnered with official media sponsor WJLB and WDFN. The event will also include other fun outdoor activities, such as face-painting, inflatable moonwalks, game prizes, etc. And a chance for a meet and greet with the celebrity participants. Food concession stand available. Live DJ entertainment featuring Detroit's best DJ Prevu.
This celebrity softball game will be held in Royal Oak at Memorial Field Park (13 Mile & Woodward), Saturday, June 11, 2010. The Home Run Derby begins at 3pm and at 3:30pm it’s gametime. See you at the ballpark!!! Gates open at 2pm for the public.
